This weeks books

Hello Preschool Families                                                            March 12, 2018

This week we will be reading different Goldilocks and The Three Bears stories.  For art the children will create a bear using a fork to make the fur.  I will post real bear photos at the easel to help the children paint a bear.  The children will also have time to using our free art area and create art on their own.
Our sensory table will have oatmeal with a few bowls, spoons, and cups to pretend it is porridge.  We will also have water and ooblick out this week, and of course there is always playdough.
Last week out lily pad hopscotch was a big hit.  The children would throw a stuffed frog on a numbered lily pad and hop on the lily pads to collect their frog.
Dramatic play has dress up, babies, and food and dishes.  The children like to play house or serve food to their friends.
March dates to remember:
No school Friday March 23
LOOKING FOR –
·         30 packs of instant oatmeal – ( to taste test for porridge)

Books for this week

weekly update

Hello Preschool Families:                             Feb 2018

The next 2 weeks we will be having fun talking about snow people.  I am hoping this week we will get outside and can possibly build a snowman on the playground.  Last week we read Snowman at Night and the children created their own snow person at night and thought about what they would do if they were a snow person at night.  Pictures posted on the classroom blog.  This week we will build a paper snow person, and write our name in each snowball (pictures to be posted later).

The Hot Beverage CafĂ© in the dramatic play area has been a BIG hit!!  The children have loved ordering and creating different drinks for their teachers and classmates.  The fairy garden has also been a lot of fun.  They enjoy playing with the tiny houses, gems, and figures.  Watching the children use their imagination is so much fun.

It is that time of year where children are getting sick.  Please help teach your child how to use their elbow to sneeze/cough into, use a tissue & throw it away, and wash your hands!!!  I have noticed a few of my children are a little nervous to go to the school nurse, so we will be taking a class "field trip" to the nurse's office next week.  Hopefully this will help relieve some anxiety for some children.

ALSO - Please call the main office if your child is sick (264-5900).
