Science table
Our science table has different ways to explore animal tracks. Some children were exploring this table yesterday they really like the big animal tracks and magnifying glasses.
Today’s work
Today we are reading The Snowy Day. The children will create their own snowy day scene by painting with glue and shaving cream to make puffy white snow. Then take a doll house person to make tracks in the snow like Peter does in the story. And finally glue on their person.
For a story connection the children will think about what Peter does in the snow and what they do in the snow.

Jan Theme - Winter theme
Hello Preschool Families January
2020
I hope you all had a wonderful winter break and had time to
spend with family and friends, and here we are starting a new month and
year!
January we will be talking about Winter Animals, Animal
Tracking, but mostly Hibernation. We
will also talk about sharing, being kind, and bullying. Our first week back is a short two days so
just getting them back into the routine and expectations.
**Hopefully I can get a few photos posted**
Here is a list of things we will be doing this month:
New Vocab – Tracking, Hibernation, Active, Migration, Autumn,
Sharing and Bully.
Science Table – We will have different animal tracks to
investigate.
Circle Time –
·
Jan 9 we start our letter city (A&B) – please bring in a small item
that begins with the letter A&B – have your child help look for this
item. Every Thursday we will have new
letters to focus on.
Please make sure the items are labeled or in a baggie that is labeled.
Along with this we may play a
cookie monster letter cookie game after letter city.
·
We also start our Math Chart - # 3, 5, 1, 7 . A great way to see how numbers look. We see the number word – THREE, 3, tally
marks, counted objects, and what numbers come before and after the number. I model it the first few times then give a
chance for the children to help with the chart.
