E and F homework
The kids were so excited to share their E and F homework. Forks, earrings, eggs, elephants, fish and much more. Thank you for you help.
Visit from Lions Club
The Lions Club came to our classroom to check our eyes. They have a special camera that takes a picture of our eyes. Then we got this special sticker....it didn't hurt one bit.

Our books for the week
This is our last week of Jan Brett. After reading a story we try to figure out the "parts of the story" the children are starting to learn the characters, setting, problem, and solution to the story. As well as the author and illustrator- we talk about the jobs an author and illustrator.

Hello Preschool Families
This month we are learning about Jan Brett. We will talk about what is an author and
illustrator – what are their jobs? We
will read several of Jan Brett’s books look at the illustrations, compare some
of the stories how are they the same and different. On Fridays we will graph our favorite Jan
Brett book we read that week and look at the results. Then the children will also become authors
and illustrators and create their own books.
In their home/school folder you will find – details about our book
celebration, and general winter newsletter. The children will be practicing a new greeting
song “The Mitten” and we will try to squeeze in the mitten that we taped to the
floor just like the story.
Friday Dec 8 – I will be looking for parent volunteers – to
bring in different items or help in the classroom. An email will follow on this with more
details. However if you think you would
like to volunteer in the classroom you will need to fill out the MBS volunteer
form, and send me an email so I am expecting you. I have included the volunteer form in the
home/school folder. For this specific
activity I will need the form returned to me by Thursday Nov 30 because it
takes about a week for Mrs. Benay to go over the form.
Other things we will be doing this month playing with babies
in our dramatic play area, I added several new toys in our play areas such as –
k’nex, the farm, fencing blocks, tangrams, and different puzzles including a
challenging cube puzzle. In the block
area there are wooden people, cars, and traffic signs.
*** PLEASE take time
to look through your child’s home/school folder this week there is A LOT of
important papers and information going home this week.
Updated Information Dec and Jan 2017
Hello Families December 2017
·
We hope you have a wonderful and
healthy 2018. To protect yourself and
your child and stay healthy remind your child to cover their cough and wash
their hands often. If you think your
child is not feeling well please keep them home and not spread the sickness to
others. If your child is too sick to
come to school please call the main office 264-5900. You can also send an email, but you NEED to
call the office first.
·
Attached you will find our classroom “WISH LIST”. I have had a few parents asking about
classroom gifts. If you would like to
get the classroom something these are the things we need and use the most. We know that December is a busy time of year
this is open to purchase as you would like and bring in to the classroom.
·
Winter
is here - our bus drivers have asked us to share with you that during these next
few months the bus arrival time occasionally may be a little later due to road
conditions. Please continue to have your
child dressed and ready at the bus stop pick up so we can keep as close to
schedule as possible.
·
We will continue to play outside on
the playground during these months. The
weather will get colder, so please
make sure that your child has LABELED
snow pants, winter hat, mittens, boots, and jacket to wear outside. We try to encourage the children to get
dressed as much as they can on their own.
Please try to have your child try at home as well to practice. I have also attached a dressing strip (like we
use at school) to help your child get dressed & undressed. ****
If the weather feels like 10 degrees or colder we do stay inside.
· Also
please remember to send in indoor shoes for your child to change into or they
have to wear their winter boots all day.
School requires the children to have footwear on at all times.
Thank
you for your continued support
